WDFW Range Map 2019

In 2018, a pair of wolves was confirmed as the first wolf pack west of the Cascade crest in Washington since the 1930s, when wolves were eradicated from the state. This pair traveled together in a territory in the northern Cascades not far south of the border with Canada, and was designated as the Diobsud Creek Pack. It is unknown whether these wolves dispersed into the area from Canada, from eastern Washington, or elsewhere.

As of the end of 2018, they were not designated as a breeding pair. And in 2019, only one wolf was confirmed to be using the Diobsud territory.

Current Numbers: 1
