In January 2016, an adult male wolf was collared in this area and given the name OR37. Shortly after that, he crossed the Snake River into Idaho, but returned to Oregon in the following month. His collar failed, but he was seen in the area through 2017. He was not seen in 2018.
In April 2019, a collared male wolf dispersing from the Middle Fork Pack moved into the area with two other wolves, who were spotted in June 2019. However, the collared male left the area in December 2019. Two wolves were documented to remain in the area during the 2019-2020 winter survey.
The Lookout Mountain Pack bred for the first time in 2020 and produced two pups that survived to the end of the year. They were counted as a breeding pair during the 2020-2021 winter survey.
ODFW reported radio-collar data displaying a 216 square mile use area with 80% of data points located on private lands and 20% on public lands.
