WDFW Range Map

The Whitestone Pack was confirmed in 2014. They range primarily on the tribal lands of the Colville Confederated Tribes, and is under tribal management authority.

In 2015 and 2016, the pack had only two members and did not have breeding pair status for those years.

In 2017, there were 5 confirmed pack members at year end, with one killed in a legal hunt on tribal lands earlier in 2017. The pack had breeding pair status for that year.

At the end of 2018, the pack had only three confirmed members and was not counted as a breeding pair.

One wolf was killed in 2019 in a legal hunt on the Colville Confederated Tribes lands. The 2019-2020 winter count by the state determined there were at least six wolves in the pack, and pups were observed in their territory. However, tribal biologists did not confirm pack numbers or breeding status for 2019.

The 2020-2021 winter survey counted a minimum of four wolves.

Current numbers: 4

Pack status: Designated in 2014.
